This is a prostrate to semi upright Australian Native growing up to 1m high. It is usually grown onto trellis and woven throughout and tied. This is usually done in spring when the branches are at their most flexible.
Can be grown into a mounding shrub.
Muntries are grown for their berries that are produced in clusters. These are green in colour, followed by a red to purplish tinge, with a spicey-apple flavour.
Eaten fresh, in jams or bush food.
The plant prefer a moderately acidic soil to strongly alkaline - ph 6-8.
Light soil that are well drained, producing some frost tolerance. Extremely dry positions should be avoided, although during spring, flowering will be increased by not over watering. Once the flowers are finished, adequate water is required to enhance fruit growth.
Winter pruning is beneficial along with tip pruning to encourage the plant to thicken, and removing dead wood will help with its fruiting behavior.
