Elderberries are deciduous shrubs or small trees growing to 4-6 metres tall with broad, serrated, dark green leaves. The individual white flowers appear in the mid to late summer with dark purple to black fruits appearing in drooping clusters in late autumn which the birds simply love. Packed full of vitamins such as A, B, C



Use


Can be used as a tea to soothe sore throats and can help with colds and flu. Can be cooked to make into jams and conserves.



Care


Prefers organic matter, and mulch to retain soil water and keep the soil cool. Best grown in full sun to part shade.
